There is evidence that pro-Biafran separatists in Nigeria are targeted by police – Amnesty International (IBTIMES UK september 9th, 2015.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says it is waiting for an international warrant order for the arrest of the retired Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGB), Mr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase.
According to a Press Release ( June 21,2016) from the Directorate of State of the IPOB to LATINOIPRESS, the IPOB is affirming that Mr. Solomon Arase presided over the extra-judicial killing of over one thousand Biafrans between July -, 2015 and May 30th, 2016. The press statement reads…
‘’Biafrans all over the world including those residing in Nigeria must keep a 24-hr searchlight on the movements of the retired Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase. This man presided over the extra-judicial killing of over one thousand Biafrans between July 2015 and May 30th 2016. Biafrans must ensure that his whereabouts are monitored and logged-in with the office of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) headquaretered in Vitoria-Spain. It is very important to keep a record of his movements so that when the International Criminal Court (ICC) finally issues the long-awaited international warrant order for his arrest, it will be easy to locate, apprehend, handcuff, and fly him to the Hague for prosectuion. However, Mr Solomon Arase is yet to make any public statements regarding the statement from the IPOB. The Amnesty International had also told the IBTIMES UK on the 9th of September 2015, that ‘’There is evidence that pro-Biafran separatists in Nigeria are targeted by police.’’ Would Mr. Solomon Arase actually face trail at the ICC?
